The Aardvark Room teachers focus on offering the children opportunities for success and activities that challenge your child’s individual level of development. Success is defined for each child by doing his or her best and making progress. We promote the development of a positive self-image by supporting each child’s curiosity, creativity, energy and language; as well as using positive reinforcement and encouraging participation and self-expression. We promote spiritual growth beyond mealtime prayers by having daily conversations about praising the Lord and thanking him for things they encounter. We’ll work to further their self-help skills and develop a sense of responsibility through weekly jobs, mealtime responsibilities and bathroom independence. Our teachers encourage consideration of others, consideration for toys, and how to properly care for them, cooperation in clean-up, as well as foster prosocial behavior, such as the Golden Rule. We use the Creative Curriculum as the framework to base their curriculum on as well as on-going assessment of the children to provide what they need individually.
