It was a wonderful day on Wednesday. The temperature was perfect, there was a slight wind and the trees were starting to change into their brilliant fall colors. The kindergarteners went down to the MN Landscape Arboretum for a fun filled field trip. The kids ran through the grasses, made shadows on the pathways, saw that flowers can grow taller than they are, posed inside a pumpkin house and picked out their favorite scarecrow or flower to take their pictures by. They saw a couple waterfalls and ran through the maze – several times. We even had a picnic lunch outside – it was a great day.
We found a fuzzy caterpiller that they had a chance to explore.
Running along the path in the grasses
There were many different Goldy Gophers set up around the Arboretum, this one was a favorite.
These yellow grasses are taller than the children.

The koi were no longer in the fountain, but some of the lilypads still had flowers
Each child could pick a special scarecrow or flower where they wanted their picture taken.

We ate our lunch outside and then ran through the maze.
Yipee – it was the perfect day
The next day everyone talked about their favorite part of the field trip and then illustrated it on this paper.
