The DuckTail class read the book “Eating the Alphabet, fruits and vegetables from A to Z,” by Lois Ehlert. After reading about all of the different fruits and vegetables the DuckTails got to try a fruit that was new to many of them- Pomegranate.
We passed the pomegranate around and the children got to look at, touch and smell the fruit. Then, we cut open the pomegranate so everyone could taste the seeds.
Observations made by the DuckTails:
“it’s red like an apple”
“there is no stem”
“it smells like an apple”
“this smells like strawberries”
“nice and juicy”
