The Kindergarten class read “My Penguin, Osbert”- a story about a boy who wanted a REAL penguin for Christmas.  After receiving his penguin, Osbert, the boy learned he didn’t have much in common with the penguin (the penguin liked COLD baths, the boy liked warm baths, the penguin liked sardines for breakfast, the boy liked waffles…).  Osbert and the boy took a trip to the zoo, and in the end Osbert decided to live at the zoo with the other penguins.  After reading the story, the Kindergartners used their small motor skills and creativity to create their own penguins.
