Penguin Field Trip to the Library

The Penguin class recently took a field trip to the Augsburg Library.  While there, they used their imaginations to play and also looked at many different books.  Exposing children to books at a young age helps to build a strong foundation for later learning.  Being read to helps children to :

Develop Language Skills- Children hear new language sounds, and will repeat them

Build Vocabulary- Children hear new words and learn to connect words with pictures

Develop a Longer Attention Span- Children will learn to sit and concentrate for longer periods of time if read to consistently

Reading also introduces children to m any educational concepts such as shapes, colors, letters and numbers.
