Music @ TLC family – neighborhood picnic 2011

Everyone at the Neighborhood Night Out picnic enjoyed wonderful music throughout the night!  The evening started out with music performed by Tay Wilson. Taylor (Tay) Wilson is the Youth and Family Minister at Transfiguration Lutheran Church. Tay also is the music teacher at TLC-ELC.  Tay is also a singer-songwriter from Minneapolis that writes lyrics from the heart. In the past year he’s had the opportunity to open for national acts, and record with members of Christian musics prominent bands. Be on the lookout for Tay as he continues his growth as a minister, musician, and teacher.http://www.taywilsonmusic.com .  Tay was followed by Rob Meany.

Rob Meany  (robmeany.com; terramara.com)  is an award-winning singer-songwriter, recording artist and member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church whose sons have attended TLC-ELC for about 8 years.  As bandleader of Terramara he has released three CDs of original pop-rock songs and is currently working on a solo record.  Rob’s music is an eclectic mix of jazzy piano-driven pop and rock in the vein of Sting, John Mayer and Ben Folds.

Scott Stroman and John Rosenow, also members of Transfiguration, wrapped up the evening with their rocking set of Beatles music.  They had everyone of all ages up and rocking to these classics. Scott has been a part of Transfiguration for his entire life.  He has been playing in the different phases of the Praise and Worship band at TLC since 1988.  Scott helps coach the confirmation band.  Both Scott and John have been involved in the various musicals put on by Transfiguration, including “Joseph”, “Children of Eden”, “To the Castle” and “Godspell”.  They both belong to bands that play throughout the Twin Cities area.

It was a wonderful night, sponsored by Transfiguration Lutheran Church.  We hope that next year will bring out even more neighbors, friends and families to enjoy another great evening together.
