Michelangelo

In the Spring, the Kindergarten class spends a lot of time learning about different artists.  When they learn about Van Gough they learn about how Van Gough cut off his hear, and the kids paint with band-aids on their ears.  When they learn about Monet, they have a picnic in “Monet’s Garden” (among the flowers on our flower fundraiser delivery day) and when they recently learned about Michelangelo, they painted on the underside of a table and pretended they are painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.  In late May, the class also takes a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to look at some of the works of art they have studied.
