TLC-ELC started offering Kindergarten14 years ago to give parents another option for their child. These are small classes (the largest class size is 10 children) that offer a variety of activities for the children. In recent years we have also expanded the age a child can be to be in our class – offering another opportunity for parents. Our kindergarten is nationally accredited and follows the guidelines set up by the Bloomington Schools. There is an added plus with the art curriculum that is part of the program and the many field trips taken by the children in the afternoon. Last year we added the opportunity to take swimming lessons through Atlantis Swim Academy, which we are continuing this year. We still have 3 openings in this year’s class and welcome inquiries. It’s a great place to be a 5/6 year old.
We start the first day out with a bus ride for all of the children.
Which turns into a major photo op for the parents.
The kids just think it’s great to get on the bus with their back packs and buckle up and go for a short ride, coming back to school.
Then, of course, we need to take a few more pictures with our new friends and our new teacher.
Every class starts out with group time and saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Class is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work too. On the first day they make their own September calendars.
They also make a special memento to give their parents to remind them of this day.
They each also drew a picture of themselves with their new teacher, Miss Karen. These were hung on the bulletin board with the photos of each of them with Miss Karen.
Everyone has their own basket of materials. It was a good day and everyone worked hard.
