It was an “Egg-cellent” Story Adventure at the Library

The Aardvarks went to the Heritage Public Library in Lakeville on Monday, April 21st.  The day was beautiful and everyone was excited about getting out and about.  We listened to several stories about eggs including the beautifully illustrated Golden Egg by Margaret Wise Brown.  The children had to guess what was making the noise inside the blue egg, while the bunny was trying to get it open.  We also did different egg fingerplays and finally made an egg craft to take home.  ECFE also gave our group (as well as every family in the room) their own special book to keep.  Afterwards we went to the children’s area of the library and read books, played with colored spy glasses and looked through the portholes of a “ship” area.

Listening to stories are even better when mom comes along.

What do you think is in that big blue egg?

We heard a story about a Big Egg by Molly Coxe too.

We were able to decorate bowls with markers and add paper grass and finally an egg.
