Babies grow and develop at different rates, so lesson plans are developed with individual needs in mind. Goals are set for each child, such as sitting unassisted or tummy time. These goals help the Turtle Room staff focus on the needs of your children and their respective growth.

 

As the children grow, the Turtle Room staff introduces them to sitting in highchairs, starting to feed themselves, using a spoon, and drinking out of a sippy cup. They also are introduced to sensory, gross motor, and fine motor activities, as well as art and language skills. Sign language also is introduced at about seven months of age, for simple words such as “more,” “all done,” and “drink.” We use the Creative Curriculum as the framework to base our curriculum on as well as ongoing assessment of the children to provide what they need individually.
