Fundraiser for Joel Wigstadt

Help support the Wigstadt Family!

Barb’s son Joel is in kidney failure, a condition stemming from disease called Wegener’s Disease, that attacked him in his early 20’s.  Joel is currently undergoing kidney dialysis in Portland, OR and will need to have a kidney transplant as soon as he has the money needed for it. Besides the cost of the transplant, the monthly ongoing anti-rejection medication is over $2,000. He hasn’t started that journey due to the total lack of insurance and any necessary funds. Joel is planning to move back to Minnesota in September to receive the love and support of his family, and begin the transplant process.

As you can imagine, there are many costs that incur with this type of treatment. In an effort to provide some financial support, there will be various fundraisers happening along the way. The first of which is happening at Transfiguration Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 22nd from 5-7pm.

Join us in the Fellowship Hall for a dessert and coffee concert, with live music by Liv (pronounced leave) Cummins, a former TLC church member and professional musician currently living in NYC. Liv and her husband Sandy will perform two sets of music, at 5:30 and 6:30.  The event is divided into 2 one hour segments. We encourage you to come at 5 and enjoy some coffee, dessert and music before picking up your kids at 6pm!

We are asking for a suggested donation of $10, all proceeds will be going to Joel’s needs.

If you are not able to attend but would like to donate to this cause, there will be a box available in the ELC office for your generous support.

Maybe you would also like to give in another way? We are also asking for desserts to be donated for this event. You can drop off your goodies in the kitchen on the morning of Wednesday, Aug 22nd.  There will be a sign-up sheet near the donation box for you to let us know that you are contributing in this way.

Thank you so much for your consideration and participation with this event!
