You might think that an Aardvark is a strangely shaped animal with a long tongue, but we know that an Aardvark is a 2.5 – 3.5 year old who is full of energy and fun. Our Aardvark group is led by Mrs. Renee who has been at TLC-ELC since 1996. The program is shaped around the developmental level and needs of the children in the room. They are encouraged to develop their self-help skills and to learn how to be a friend. They work on large muscle development through time outside on the playground and inside in fellowship hall; and small muscle development through many manipulatives, lacing beads, puzzles, and crayons and markers. As they are ready for it, they are introduced to basic math concepts, letter recognition, shapes, and vocabulary building through reading many books and discussion with the children in both large groups, small groups and individual conversation. They learn more about God and His love for them through twice monthly worship services, Bible stories, prayer and doing different Bible activities on a regular basis.
