Vacation Bible School- Mighty Fortress: In Jesus, The Victory is Won!

In June, the ELC participated in Transfiguration Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School week.  The theme this year was Mighty Fortress: In Jesus, The Victory is Won!  Through songs, stories, crafts and games we learned about Jesus, our savior, helps us conquer our fears and delivers us from evil.

Each day, we began and ended our time in the sanctuary singing songs and learn that God is our refuge and strength. Friends may fail us. We may not ace their test or make the team, but God promises to be our rock and our salvation—their fortress and sure defense.

Closings were led by our older students- they led us in songs, performed skits and led us in prayer.  They also updated us on our missions.  During the week we collected Box Tops for the ELC, food for VEAP and money to help buy Christian books for children.

We ended up collecting 1,152 Box Tops, 409 pounds of food for VEAP and $664 for Christian books.  Check out more blogs coming up for more VBS fun!
