4 Year Olds

Welcome To The Ducktape Room

Typically children who are 4 years old in September

Teacher : Child Ratio = 1:6.5
Maximum Class Size = 13 children

 

Classroom Goals and Activities

Spiritual Development:

  • Twice monthly worship services with church staff
  • Teachers pray with children before meals
  • Weekly, Christian based music class led by Taylor Wilson(youth and family minister of Transfiguration Lutheran Church)
  • Daily Devotions

Social/Emotional Development:

  • Children continue to work on self-help skills
  • Teachers encourage respect for others and surroundings
  • Children learn responsibility through small jobs around the classroom

Physical Development:

  • Twice daily outdoor large muscle time (weather permitting)
  • Movement activities are incorporated into each day ( i.e dancing)
  • Small motor development, children learn the correct way to hold pencils, use scissors, write their name etc…)

Cognitive Development:

  • Children begin to recognize numbers, letters and patterns

Language Development:

  • Children begin to recognize letters and letters put together form words
  • Children are encouraged to use words to express themselves

8:40 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.Bathroom/Breakfast
9:30 a.m. – 9:40 a.m.Group Time
9:40 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.Teacher directed activities/Dance/Free Play
11:00 a.m. – 11:15 p.m.Bible/Devotions Time
11:15 p.m. - 12:05 p.m.Large Muscle
12:05 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.Bathroom/Lunch
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.Nap/Rest Time
3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.Bathroom/Snack
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.Stories/Art/Free Choice Play
4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.Large Muscle/Departure
